It has been another beautiful day in Minneapolis today. I woke up to the sounds of a thunderstorm. Don’t get me wrong, I love listening to thunderstorms, I missed them while living in Montana. But thunder meant rain and rain meant still no sun. I heard on the radio or the news that it has rained 20+ days out of the last 30 days. What is this, Seattle?
Oh well, it’s better than worrying about how black the sky is going to look from forest fires all summer like people in Montana have been.
My car is feeling like new. I got it all dolled up for my trip this weekend. I finally replaced the windshield, I got new wiper blades, got the oil changed, had the battery posts cleaned, and the radiator cap replaced. The only thing left is to get the trunk fixed, but that’s way more spendy.
“Weekend trip?” you say? “What weekend trip?” I suppose it isn’t surprising since I have hardly written anything this week. But I’m taking Friday off and driving down to Chicago to play in a hockey tournament. A friend from the U invited me down to play on her team since they needed another player. That’s right, the ladies can play hockey too. Her brother is also playing, which should be fun because he’s really good. Though I don’t know if he’s had too much experience playing in non-checking leagues, hopefully his checking instincts won’t kick in too often.
If we make it to the championship game I could be getting back to Minneapolis pretty late on Sunday night, but it would be worth it. I tell you what though. I haven’t been keeping up on that whole “getting in shape” thing I was going on about last month? Well, it’s been tough, what with moving and the weather sucking and all. Hopefully my body won’t fall apart after 4-5 games of hockey, but it might.
Well, I better get back to work. Lunch doesn’t last forever.
